1889 - Worshipful Master Peter Robinson was petitioned to organize the Warren Lodge Club

1890 – An invitation was extended to the brothers of Warren Lodge No. 8 and their wives to meet on 17th street NW, Washington DC

After waiting the required length of time the club was given dispensation to confer degrees as Queen of Sheba Chapter No. 3

The First Worthy Matron was Past Matron Sara A. Robinson and the First Worthy Patron was Past Patron Peter Robinson

1892 – A Grand Chapter was formed by the Jurisdiction of the District of Columbia and Maryland.

The chapters represented were:

  1. Queen Esther No. 1 of the District of Columbia;
  2. Electa Chapter No. 2 of Maryland;
  3. Queen of Sheba Chapter No. 3 of the District of Columbia; and,
  4. Gethsemane Chapter No. 4 of the District of Columbia.

1894 – Queen of Sheba has its first elected Grand Worthy Matron the late Past Grand Worthy Matron Julia A. H. Pugsley

Over the years Queen of Sheba has acquired two additional brother lodges Thomas L. Johnson Lodge No. 28 and Ionic Lodge No. 17.  All three brother lodges have brothers that are very active in our chapter today.

Queen of Sheba has a very long history and a vast number of Past Matrons and Patrons.  Our Past Matrons and Patrons continue to work effortlessly in the Grand Chapter and in Queen of Sheba.  We have had the privilege to have had or still have:
